Tis the Season!

This past weekend me and my roomie tried getting into the Christmas spirit with a little ice skating! This was only my second time attempting to ice skate, and I had a great time. I didn't even fall! I can't believe the holidays are among us already. Pretty soon it will be a new year, and I've already started on my resolutions. It still doesn't feel like Christmas is right around the corner, but I guess once you get older, it's not as magical. I have a few holiday shindigs coming up this weekend, and I can't wait to wear my cocktail dress/ugly sweater and drink egg nog with my friends! I have a few things on my list for Santa: a Kindle or an Ipad, a camera, a puppy, and an Apple TV.  I'm sure I'll only get one from this list, but I can still hope! LOL What's on your Christmas list?

Trenches

Take these pins out of my chest,
I pant for air as I feel a tingling in my legs.
I want to move but my legs won't move from this place.
They are stuck.
The muddy trenches are caving in and I can't hide here anymore.
My weary, wounded spirit still holds on but the war is over.

Passion Breeds Purpose

Some days we need that extra push or a few words of wisdom to keep that drive going. Many things will get in the way to distract you, but stay inspired and no matter what do what you LOVE. Sometimes its hard to focus on our true passions because we get caught up in life and focus on materialistic pleasures. But those things won't satisfy you for long. I'm working on my next to last class of my MBA program, and it's becoming more difficult to focus as the end draws near. (I should be working on a paper, but I'm taking a few minutes to post some thoughts.) I've always wanted my MBA because I felt I needed one to become this great executive/CEO or entrepreneur. I know that my lessons will definitely help me in the workplace, but did I really need to rack up more student loans for a competitive advantage over my peers?  Some of the most successful entrepreneurs do not have an MBAThere are tons of people with multiple degrees that are barely surviving because the job economy is horrible. Oh and how about trying to find a job you love AND make enough to pay rent...does that even exist? I know it exists somewhere. Sometimes you have to struggle a little to get what you truly want. Even now I'm still a bit unsure of what I really want to do. I have a few ideas, so until I reach some grand breakthrough of my purpose, i'll do what I love. Volunteer and capture moments. They don't really go together, but i'm ok with that. The rest will come to me.

Happy Thanksgiving!

This Thanksgiving, I am thankful for my health and strength, and great friends and family! We have lost so many loved ones along the way but I thank God I'm still here! I enjoyed eating and laughing among my loved ones at dinner. It was hilarious watching the friendly competition and trash talking among my family during the Cowboys vs. Redskins game! The Redskins fans partied the night away after that win. Lol! As always, remember this time of year brings the spirit of giving. So give to those in need of your loving kindness whether its a family member or a total stranger. Give with your whole heart and you blessings will come back to you two-fold.
